Amrita Gyawali
As the Program Manager of Sakshyam Foundation, Amrita Gyawali advocate for the rights of people with disabilities in regards to education and employment, monitors and evaluates the programs and their activities, and identifies areas of improvements and strengths. While in the U.S., Gyawali worked with World Institute on Disability (WID) in Berkley, CA, where she shared about Nepalese disability movements, employment, and practices with likeminded organizations,; evaluated and reviewed WID's programs that fit in an international context; and created two PSA disability social awareness videos on the subjects of accessibility and employment. Since her return to Nepal, Gyawali has focused her efforts on the Education Support for Children with Disabilities project, a project that supports the rights of children with severe disabilities through educational services and advocacy and aims to provide tutoring support that leads to mainstream school access, support teacher training, and guide schools in the use of adaptive assistive devices and curriculum development.
