Ana Isabel Alvarado Huapaya
Ana works in the water and sanitation sector as the co-founder of Wayru Peru. For families and groups in vulnerable and underserved communities without access to safe water and proper hygiene facilities, Wayru Peru is a water and sanitation organization that provides novel solutions for safe hygiene practices and water efficiency, such as innovative portable showers, educational workshops, and social projects, allowing community members to access water conveniently and sustainably and positively impacting their health, livelihoods, and environment. Ana's short-term goal is to develop partnerships and sell project ideas to companies, institutions, and organizations interested in social responsibility and access to safe water. Their long-term vision is to become a leading social enterprise in the water and hygiene sector, providing groundbreaking solutions and sustainable impact to underserved communities globally. Coming into the YLAI Fellowship, Ana's top business challenge is Marketing & Sales. More specifically, they want to learn how to secure funding for the company's projects to expand its impact and effectively create partnerships with socially responsible companies. During the Fellowship Placement, Ana hopes to learn how water companies and social enterprises achieve long-term sustainability, create sales strategies, and secure financing.
