Andres works in the food and beverage sector as the CEO of Alcaguete S.A.S. For diet-conscious people who seek to generate a positive impact as consumers while enjoying good-quality food, Alcaguete S.A.S. is a food production company that develops and sells delicious snacks and pantry staples with nutritional benefits to help its clients lead a healthy lifestyle and reduce levels of obesity. Additionally, the company uses 1% of its gross sales to deliver food to malnourished children and/or to subsidize the production of the fortified foods it develops. Andres’s short-term goal is to facilitate the expansion of the company’s products into new markets. Their long-term goal is to help the company become one of the most important healthy food brands with social impact in the region. Coming into the YLAI Fellowship, Andres’s top business challenge is Scaling & Expansion. More specifically, they aim to turn the company into a recognizable brand across the Americas, while continuing to improve its impact on the Colombian market. During the Fellowship Placement, Andres hopes to establish a network of industry professionals and gain knowledge regarding the ways in which emerging brands can grow in the competitive US market.
