Ariel Flores Mercado
As Assistant Director for Learning and Volunteer Programs at Amizade Global Service in Bolivia, Ariel develops and coordinates service and volunteer programs for American students in rural Cochabamba. Ariel is an expert in working alongside the community to develop the goals and service, volunteer, and cultural activities of various programs. Ariel has also developed skills in leadership, logistics, and problem-solving through coordinating the community, volunteers and Amizade staff. During his fellowship in the United States, Ariel hopes to learn about social media and communication, development projects in the community, and strategies to approach different people with different backgrounds while also developing his skills in leadership, logistics, and conflict resolution. Upon returning to Bolivia, Ariel plans to promote mutual understanding in the community to meet urgent needs in basic services, education, and sustainable development.
