As a project manager and STEM lab manager for the British Council Kazakhstan, Askar Arstambayev has experience managing a regionally scaled education project, organizing educational events and activities, as well as working with NGOs and local government. For his CSP practicum, Askar collaborated with Chicago Council in Chicago, Illnois on Science and Technology where he assisted in the planning of program activities such as TED-style community events and produced digital content. For his follow-on project in Kazakhstan, Askar plans to start a community project aimed at making quality STEM and IT education equally available and affordable to everyone and raise awareness of local environmental problems through a Makerspace that utilizes recycled plastics.
