Billy Jackson taught Social Studies (Ancient History, Geography) and English (Language Arts, Composition, American Literature) at Franklinton High School in North Carolina and Berkshire Middle School since 2008. In his current position, Billy teaches 6th and 7th grade Geography, Ancient History, and English Language Arts. Billy regularly uses technology to advance student learning such as creating Berkshire Middle Schools’ YouTube Channel. In 2013, Billy was elected Berkshire’s Union Representative. Billy also coaches track at Wylie Groves High Schools. As a TGC participant, Billy collaborated with fellow countries’ ambassadors to better educate students and solve major world problems. Billy made contacts to network with via social media sites like Twitter to start global education initiatives.

Billy Jackson provides an Economics unit plan in his Global Education Guide. Students explore how the tragedy of the commons affected different nations on a social and economic level. Using this knowledge, students identify the most pressing issues facing a nation and develop an economic strategy to mitigate these issues. Students think about resources usage, relations with other nations, and areas of strength. Billy traveled to Ghana for his International Field Experience and includes a collection of resources on his travel blog.
