As an in-country president for Honduras Compassion Partners, Carlos Jonathan Zelaya Fonseca has experience starting new programs and projects to support communities in need and creating partnerships with other NGOs and the government. For his CSP Practicum, Carlos was placed at St. Bernard Economic Development Foundation in Chalmette, Louisiana where he was engaged in disaster resiliency for business continuity focused on renewable energies, community lighthouses, storm water drainage, and a plan immediately post-storm. For his follow-on project in Honduras, Carlos plans to host a summit taught by educators from the United States that will instruct first responders in El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras on how to prepare for natural disasters.
