Darian Rice is a Technical Specialist at the Center for Applied Learning and Impact. In this role, Darian assists in drafting research proposals and developing CALI tools and products. Darian also coordinates the MERL Community Network within Global Programs, supporting collaboration and improvement of monitoring, evaluation, research, and learning across IREX’s practices. 

Prior to joining IREX, Darian worked in K-12 education research and policy. Darian interned at the Learning Policy Institute based in Palo Alto, California, where he supported relationship-centered classroom practices and youth-led research on racial equity in schools. Darian also worked as a research associate at Marzano Research in Denver, Colorado, where he partnered with the Institute of Education Sciences in the Northwestern United States, supporting trauma-engaged instruction in Alaska, digital learning and media literacy in rural Wyoming, and Native American needs assessments in North Dakota.

Darian holds a B.A. in African & African American Studies with a minor in Human Biology/Health Policy from Stanford University.
