Working as project development officer with Mobile Theater Team, Deng Daniel Khot helps to design, evaluate, implement and coordinate project activities. Deng supports the organization in training staff on issues of gender equality, child protection and community mobilization. Khot also uses sports as a tool in his holistic approach to youth development. During his fellowship in the United States, Deng hopes to learn about mechanisms to protect women and children and preserve children’s rights, especially girl’s rights. Khot also wants to develop his skills and knowledge in areas of project design, project management and monitoring and evaluation. Upon returning from the Community Solutions Program, Khot plans to work to increase awareness on gender equity among different ethnic groups in South Sudan by implementing gender awareness education seminars and workshops.
