As Education Programs Coordinator at UNDP in Uzbekistan, Dilnora Azimova has managed several regional UNDP-sponsored resource centers that serve as community spaces for knowledge sharing, IT skills-building, and community participation. During her time in the U.S., Azimova worked for the New Jersey Women and AIDS Network (NJWAN), helping to conduct trainings on HIV/AIDS prevention and education, planning HIV/AIDS awareness events and conferences, and co-teaching a course on HIV/AIDS to students at nearby Rutgers University. Upon her return to Uzbekistan, Azimova concentrated on implementing an HIV awareness program that sought to increase at-risk youth’s knowledge of HIV prevention strategies and overall health literacy.
