Eloy Mendez Guevara
As the Executive Director of Agroforestry Chorotegan Association (UNAFOR), Eloy is responsible for coordinating projects and overseeing administration for the organization. He manages development projects related to climate adaptation and environmental conservation in Costa Rica. Eloy is an expert in project management, strategic planning and sustainable tourism and has developed skills in communication, strong leadership, and event planning. During his fellowship in the United States, Eloy hopes to learn about new methodologies of work, case studies, and new financing opportunities while also developing his skills in teamwork and organizational leadership. Upon returning to Costa Rica, Eloy plans to promote alternative strategic development of rural communities by promoting local farms and communities as tourist attractions. He wants to use environmental sustainability and adaptation to climate change to generate employment for youth.
