As a national director for International Student Environmental Coalition, Emily Munamie has experience combating energy poverty, the deforestation crisis in Malawi, and climate change injustices. For her CSP practicum, Emily collaborated with UPROSE in Brooklyn, New York where she created and developed strategies and resources for intergenerational and trans-locational BIPOC youth organizing around environmental and climate justice. For her follow-on project in Malawi, Emily plans to establish energy hubs, train youth to make fuel efficient stoves and biogas, and plant trees to increase awareness about climate change and deforestation.
