Evodius Rutta has over five years of work experience in natural resource management projects. As the Founder and Executive Director of Tanzania Youth Environmental Network (TAYEN), a youth led organization that addresses local environmental problems, Rutta coordinates and manages TAYEN programs, including community tree planting to combat deforestation, youth climate change education projects both in and out of schools, educating local communities on the impacts of climate change, and developing social entrepreneurship programs. While in the U.S., Rutta worked with IDEAS for Us in Winter Park, Florida, where he established partnerships with organizations with similar visions to those of TAYEN in an effort to widen the organization’s reach. Having completed his Community Solutions Fellowship, Rutta is working to start a green jobs initiative for youth, focusing on employment through renewable energy technologies.
