As a community outreach coordinator for the Thread of Life Women Empowerment Ministries, Florence Nakayi has experience working with communities to solve problems that women and children face such as being abandoned by spouses, victims of violence, and HIV. For her CSP practicum, Florence collaborated with Women's Initiative for Self Empowerment in Saint Paul, Minnesota where she assisted in developing workshops, outreach materials, activities, and family support programs for refugees. For her follow-on project in Uganda, Florence plans to create a program that will help vulnerable women acquire financial literacy and jobs skills, leading to socio-economic empowerment.
