Franseska Quezada Huamaní
Franseska works in the community development sector as a Project Manager for Mipez. For companies such as food suppliers or restaurants looking for sustainable, high-quality marine products, Mipez is a fish-processing company that offers environmentally friendly marine products harvested in a way that protects marine ecosystems and values the work of artisanal fishers. Franseska aims to grow sales of vacuum-packed marine products by 10 percent and increase the income of artisanal fishers in the short term and ultimately export 5 percent of the company’s frozen marine products. Coming into the YLAI Fellowship, Franseska’s top business challenge is Strategy. More specifically, they wish to learn how to export Mipez's frozen marine products while ensuring product quality and develop a range of ready-to-eat marine products. During the Fellowship Placement, Franseska hopes to gain the knowledge to scale the company’s social enterprise and be able to continue to impact more artisanal fishers, promoting gender equality, generating more employment, and improving the quality of life for all people who participate in the value chain.
