As a Gender, Women, and Children Program Officer for Legal and Human Rights Center, Getrude Shinje Dyabene has experience in law, public policy, human rights, women and girls empowerment, and advocacy. Getrude is placed at Family Justice Center of Erie County in Buffalo, NY, to help survivors of sexual and gender-based violence. Upon returning to Tanzania, Getrude plans to advocate for the protection of girls from sexual and gender-based violence and access to education for girls who get pregnant while still in school by ensuring the laws, policies, and systems are in place to protect them.
