Gordon Omondi
Gordon is a Subgrants Officer at IREX, responsible for managing sections of the African Subgrants portfolio and sub-awards for the global, cross-sectoral USAID Youth Excel Activity.
He serves as a point of contact on grant management and compliance for Africa-based sub-grantees, where he helps to develop and review new grants and modifications.
Prior to Joining IREX, Gordon served as a Grants Coordinator at RTI International, where he oversaw the process of developing Request for Application (RFA) packages and managing the competitive selection process; providing guidance and training to grantees, performing pre-award surveys of potential grantees to assess financial, program, and organizational capabilities; maintaining grants information management system, reconciling financial and technical reports; conducting monitoring visits; and ensuring all grants are closed out appropriately. In this role, he earned recognition through the RTI Rise Award for meeting cost share collection targets.
Gordon holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Moi University (Finance and Banking Major), CPA professional qualification, and is an experienced grants management professional.
