Heang Thy works for Cambodians for Resource Revenue Transparency as the organization’s Communications Officer, where she manages the organization’s public outreach and relations efforts with the larger aim of increasing the transparency of extractive industries in Cambodia. During her CSP fellowship in the U.S., Thy worked for the Great Basin Resource Watch in Reno, Nevada, providing support to the organization’s community outreach and awareness campaigns and examining the legal context of the mining industry in the state. Upon returning to Cambodia, Thy worked to build organizational capacity of CSOs to raise awareness of the effects of extractive industries and lobby for policies curtailing negative impacts.
