Intesar Khalifa Elbarasi, Libya, is a new media entrepreneur for her country's post‐revolutionary period. Since 2011, she has used her own money and volunteers to start Alain newspaper, a weekly in Benghazi that she hopes to turn into a daily. She added a training center for journalists recently, financed by selling her own property, and is considering launching an FM radio station as well. Educated in chemistry, she retrained in journalism and worked for the Libya Press Agency and several online newspapers before founding Alain as an independent media outlet in 2011.
