Isabella Arevalo
Isabella works in the Food and Beverages sector leading Vegetarianos de Honduras. They promote vegetarian options in restaurants around the country and create products high in vegetable protein, also known as meat substitutes. They sell seitan (from wheat flour), tofu (from soybeans), texturized soy, vital wheat gluten flour, and jackfruit. Their customers are people 18–50 years old who are transitioning to a vegetarian lifestyle or are long-time vegetarians, well aware of animal suffering, want to reduce their environmental impact, and increase their health. They are unique because they created a community before launching product sales. Coming to the YLAI Fellowship, Isabella’s top business challenge is Social Impact.
