Jackie Jena
Jackie is the acting director of the Strategic Communications Unit at IREX. In this role she spearheads efforts to heighten the awareness of the organization and its impact in the world. Jackie leads a dynamic team tasked with developing and promoting campaigns to communicate the relevance of IREX’s mission and the solutions that IREX advances to address barriers to just, prosperous, and inclusive societies.
As a lawyer and marketing professional, Jackie is an advocate for social change and global development. She has over Over 15 years' experience managing social impact projects, developing partnerships, and leading communications. Prior to this role, Jackie worked as a Strategic Partnerships Manager with IREX's Strategic Partnerships Unit and the Mandela Washington Fellowship Team.
Before joining IREX, Jackie was working with African Leadership Foundation, as the External Relations Manager helping to build private funding and support for the African Leadership Academy based in South Africa. Her previous work includes working with the Higher Life Foundation and Charity Water. She hails from Zimbabwe and brings extensive knowledge about social impact and private sector engagement to the team.
Jackie is a law graduate from Rhodes University in South Africa, and attended graduate school at ESCP Europe Business School in the United Kingdom.
