Jacques Nsengiyumva is a civil servant with two years’ work experience in charge of Environmental Standards and Regulations at the Rwanda Environment Management Authority (REMA) department of Environment Pollution and Regulation Control. As a Community Solutions Program Fellow, Nsengiyumva hopes to learn about effective and efficient environmental techniques that will help to solve sanitation problems in rural areas of his community. Upon completion of the fellowship, he plans to domesticate learnt techniques in hotspot areas (schools and hospitals) of Eastern Province.

He also plans to promote effective and efficient sanitation techniques that will help him to address sustainably both waterborne diseases and water scarcity issues in his community.
