Before joining IREX, Jessilyn volunteered as a tutor and mentor for AmeriCorps Pathways to Success, helping high school juniors and seniors improve academically and assisting them with preparations for their post-graduate lives. She then moved to Daejeon, South Korea, where she taught English to Korean middle schoolers and introduced them to U.S. cultural experiences. While there, she implemented learner-led programs, helping students shape their own educational experiences.
Jessilyn holds a bachelor’s degree in anthropology from the University of Central Florida and a master’s degree in global affairs and foreign policy from Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea. She speaks Korean and is certified to teach English as a foreign language (TEFL).
