Jherane Patmore
Jherane works in the arts and culture sector as the Founder and CEO of Rebel Women Lit. For women and queer readers in their thirties or forties who are interested in reading and discussing literature in a safe setting, Rebel Women Lit is a book club that provides its customers with an alternative literary space where they can engage in intellectual discourse. Jherane aims to revamp membership offerings to make them less trendy and more sustainable in the short term and ultimately to create a Carribean alternative literary hub. Coming into the YLAI Fellowship, Jherane’s top business challenge is Scaling & Expansion. More specifically, they aim to render the business more sustainable and less dependent on their identity as the founder, making sure it remains profitable even after expanding. During the Fellowship Placement, Jherane hopes to establish a strong network of business leaders who understand what it’s like to start a company that focuses on social impact and sustainability.
