As a team leader for WWF-Malaysia’s Marine Program, Joannie Jomitol focuses on building the capacity of stakeholders to sustainably manage marine resources in support of the largest proposed marine park in Malaysia. During her fellowship in the United States, she hopes to learn more about community participation and mobilization and social entrepreneurship, particularly related to natural resources management while also developing her skills in project monitoring and evaluation. Upon returning from the Community Solutions Program, Jomitol plans to increase her community’s self-mobilization and sense of ownership towards marine resources.
