As an advocate and national coordinator for sustainable natural resources management, John Bosco Gakumba has helped stakeholder communities and partners in the Nile Basin Discourse Forum in Rwanda to more efficiently use natural resources in a changing global climate. Gakumba also has experience with projects addressing food security, water scarcity, community empowerment, renewable and clean energy access, and equitable sharing of benefits of the Nile River citizens in Rwanda. During his fellowship in the United States, Gakumba hopes to gain skills on resources mobilization and strategies for influencing policy. Upon his return from the Community Solutions Program, Gakumba plans to engage local communities in lobbying for inclusiveness in the national development process.
