Juan Fernando works in the energy and environment sector as the CEO and Founder of Marca Patito|Economía Circular. For young people who want to recycle conveniently and innovative companies looking to reduce their environmental impact, Marca Patito|Economía Circular is a waste management service that provides a one-stop-shop for recycling solutions that makes it as easy as possible for individuals and companies to integrate recycling into their daily lives. In the short term, Juan Fernando aims to develop systems that measure and improve the company’s finances and operations while following a well-defined growth strategy with measurable KPIs. Ultimately, Juan Fernando's long-term goal is to offer a plug-and-play waste management service for places lacking infrastructure by creating a replicable operation that can expand throughout the world to provide a network of waste management solutions to smaller cities and towns. Coming into the YLAI Fellowship, Juan Fernando’s top business challenge is Scaling and Expansion. More specifically, they want to develop an effective scaling strategy with a dedicated team to implement customer acquisition and business expansion. During the Fellowship Placement, Juan Fernando hopes to gain exposure to how big companies think about growth and business expansion.
