As a Trainer for Global Platform Myanmar’s Youth Participation in Governance program, Khin Sandar Nyunt supports youth capacity development in order to increase the abilities of youth to positively impact social change. Nyunt is also a Core Team Member and Policy Analyst for the Training and Parliamentary Education program in Burma and previously worked for a local NGO as a Monitoring and Reporting Officer for European Union-funded projects that were designed to target Cyclone affected disaster areas. As a fellow at the Coro Center for Civic Leadership in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Nyunt learned civic engagement strategies for community problems and leadership models to educate and train youths to be catalysts of change and develop community leaders. She also worked on strategies to engage communities around collective problems through CORO fellows and leadership programs. Upon return to Burma, Nyunt worked to strengthen the local legislative sector and improve policy outcomes of Mon State by encouraging community participation in the public policy process.
