Landry Mayigane
Landry Ndriko Mayigane is a committed development and public health professional, with more than 5 years working as the National Poultry Program Coordinator under the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Resources in Rwanda. In this position, he contributed to building one of the most dynamic livestock sub-sectors in Rwanda by designing and implementing results-oriented policies, overseeing the national poultry production and commercialization, developing animal diseases prevention and control strategies for a safer poultry industry, and supervising yearly around 1,200 small to medium scale poultry farmers. Since November 2014, he has been based in Conakry, Guinea, working under the African Union Support to Ebola Outbreak in West Africa (ASEOWA) Mission as the Surveillance and Epidemiologists Team Coordinator. While in the U.S., Maygiane worked with Ecotrust in Portland, Oregon, contributing with other staff to the development of the bioregional tool for resilience using GIS technology. Upon returning from the Community Solutions Program fellowship, Mayigane focused on building a network of youth for climate action and training them to address climate change in their communities and through social enterprises like solar panel production.
