Lee Ann Grim serves as the program director for the Securing Access to Free Expression (SAFE) Initiative in IREX’s Information and Media Practice. The SAFE Initiative empowers media practitioners to continue their important work as safely as possible by building skills in resilience and risk management.

Lee Ann brings management expertise built over 10 years working on international and security-oriented programs. Prior to joining IREX, Lee Ann provided program management and risk assessment support to the US Department of Homeland Security, as well as management support to a US Department of Justice international training program. She also previously served as a delegation coordinator for Witness for Peace and as an AmeriCorps member in Springfield, Massachusetts.

Lee Ann holds a graduate degree in international peace and conflict resolution from the School of International Service at American University, as well as an undergraduate degree in psychology from Springfield College.
