Maia Maziashvili
Maia Maziashvili is grants and contracts manager for the Media for Transparent and Accountable Governance (M-TAG) program, in Tbilisi, Georgia. She oversees implementation of the grants component of the program.
Maia, who joined IREX in 2010, has 15 years of experience working in various capacities for international donors such as USAID and UNDP. She joined the IREX team as grants monitor for the IREX G-MEDIA program and was promoted to grants/finance officer in 2012, to grants manager in 2014, and to grants and contracts manager in 2017.
As grants and contracts manager, she manages the grants component of the $7 million USAID-funded M-TAG program. She provides ongoing technical consulting to grantees for financial management of projects and financial reporting, reviews grantee interim and final financial reports against presented back-up financial documentation, prepares payment requests, and executes payments. She reviews contracts and procures all necessary services needed for project implementation.
Maia is fluent in English and has advance knowledge of Russian. She holds an MA in law with a major in civil law from Tbilisi State University.
