Makesi works in the electronics and technology sector as the Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Travee Technologies Limited. For young adults aged eighteen to thirty-five years residing in Trinidad and Tobago, Travee is a technology company providing customers with access to transport and delivery services using an app that enables ride-sharing transportation. Makesi aims to create greater brand awareness to facilitate the company’s expansion in the local and regional markets in the short term. Their long-term vision is two-fold: to be the largest ride-sharing service provider in the Caribbean and to offer technological solutions to problems faced by developing countries within the Caribbean network of islands. Coming into the YLAI Fellowship, Makesi’s top business challenge is Scaling and Expansion; more specifically, their ability to scale in a competitive market. During the Fellowship Placement, Makesi hopes to experience networking with like-minded people in the technology space to foster partnerships that last beyond the program.
