Maleka Jennifer Miriam Russell
As a Crop Extension Assistant for National Agriculture Research and Extension Institute, Maleka Russell has experience in insect and pest control, shade house vegetable cultivation technologies, and climate-smart agricultural practices. During the fellowship, Maleka aims to learn about business development, develop a business model for agricultural sustainability, and engage with other entrepreneurs as they promote healthy lifestyles through better nutrition. Upon returning to Guyana, Maleka plans to continue working in the agriculture sector. As she develops a sustainable plan to promote climate-smart agriculture and holistic, healthy lifestyles for those in her community and her country, she intends to advocate for more youth to become involved in agriculture.
