After a decade as a journalist for Swaziland’s leading independent newspaper, Times of Swaziland, Manqoba Nxumalo was suspended in February, allegedly for leaking information to a blog run from outside the country. With the monarchy controlling much of the flow of information in the country, there journalists work under considerable pressure to self censor. Nxumalo also contributes a column to the South African news site The Daily Maverick, as well as reporting on news events from Swaziland such as the April protests
