Marcos Fenterseifer Woortmann
As a public officer and social activist for the Salve o Urubu Movement, the Legislative Chamber, and the Federal District Government of Brazil, Marcos Woortmann helps organize associations and foster a culture of democracy and environmental awareness through direct action both at the governmental level and with social movements, focusing on the right to land property and civil responsibility. As a Community Solutions Program Fellow, Woortmann hopes to work with management tools to help increase accountability in the governmental sector he is responsible for and to learn more about volunteering as a hallmark of the democratic American culture while enhancing his abilities to deal with conflict resolution among and between society and the public sector.
Upon returning to Brazil, Woortmann plans to promote renewed instances of participation in local government.
