Maria Regina Heredia Cruz
As the Founder of Apicola Verde Gourmet, Maria Regina Heredia has experience in the technical management of beehives, harvesting and packing honey, maintenance of beehive boxes and combs, and handling different varieties of bees, always respecting the ecological origin of each individual bee and its honey. During the fellowship, Maria Regina aims to learn about how to be more efficient in harvesting and maintenance the hives, techniques and tricks to increase the productivity of the hives, and learn how packaging and sales work in the US. Lastly, she looks forward to hearing about both the good and bad experiences fellow beekeepers have had while entering new markets or growing in old markets. Upon returning to Bolivia, Maria Regina plans to apply everything she has learned during her one-month experience with her host to increase production and sales while maintaining high standards of ecological production and handling.
