As a Program Officer at Teso Women Peace Activists, Martha Engole is actively involved in engaging women and girls in peacebuilding and conflict resolution processes by supporting the mainstreaming of gender rights-based approaches within the region. She also manages advocacy campaigns by collaborating with local partners and government. While in the U.S., Engole worked with the Institute for Inclusive Security in Washington, DC, where she advocated for the inclusion of women in peace processes, particularly focusing on outreach to African members of the Women Waging Peace Network – an international group of women in the field of women, peace, and security. Following the Community Solutions Program fellowship, Engole focused on conducting learning initiatives on conflict transformation between women peace promoters of the Teso and Karamoja regions of Uganda.
