As a human and environmental rights activist for Equality Jamaica Natalia McAlpine has experience advocating for sustainable agriculture and the equal rights of members of the LGBT community, people living with disabilities and mental health issues. Upon returning to Jamaica, Natalia plans to promote new permaculture practices by advocating for government policies to combat climate change and increase food security. Natalia will be placed at ECO City Farms in Riverdale, Maryland working on sustainable local urban farming through participating in composting, soil preparation, planting, harvesting, selling and getting involved in classes and learning experiences related to farming.
