Nisreen Rammal
As the Project and Field Coordinator of the Gender Program at the Amel Association-International, Nisreen Rammal focuses on discrimination in the health sector through the improvement of working conditions and empowerment of female health staff. She conducts grassroots sensitization and advocacy on policy campaigns to build capacity and encourage the targeted medical structures to initiate protocols to improve working conditions. In the U.S., Rammal worked in the employment service department at Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Services in New Haven, Connecticut, where she helped refugees find employment and become financially independent. She also organized fundraising events, workshops, and worked as a social worker to help refugees with their daily needs. Following the Community Solutions Program, she started a support program for refugee and immigrant women to help them adjust to their new surroundings.
