As a volunteer refugee journalist for Refugee Journalists of Northern Uganda, Pamela Ratib has experience using the media to create awareness of the challenges facing adolescent refugees, young mothers, and rape victims as well as efforts to cancel those groups. For her CSP Practicum, Pamela was placed at Women's Initiative for Self Empowerment in St. Paul, Minnesota where she supported communications and social media and assist with programs on healthy relationships and gender-based violence prevention. For her follow-on project in Uganda, Pamela plans to realize an initiative aimed at addressing the challenges faced by marginalized groups, such as adolescent refugees, young mothers, and victims of rape and gender-based violence.
