As the Principal Planner of the Ministry of Defense and Veteran Affairs, Patrick Temera develops programs and strategies that best address the challenges of military veterans in Uganda and conducts research, monitoring, and evaluation to obtain data-derived insights to improve the effectiveness of programs. While in the U.S., Temera worked with St. John's Shelter Program for Women and Children in Sacramento, California, where he conducted counseling and coaching for women, led classes on life and career skills, managing conflict, and self-care, and developed new mentorship programs. Since his return to Uganda, Temera is organizing and leading  a project to harness the contribution of women to peace and security in the country through leadership and entrepreneurship.
