Working as the regional development officer for the Balkan Investigative Reporting Network, Petar Subotin helps promote this grouping of investigative journalism organizations spanning the region. BIRN and its member organizations produce probing reporting and offer training in investigative techniques for writers and editors. He was a journalist and reporter for radio and television in Vojvodina and later worked at the Novi Sad School of Journalism.
