Phionah Musumba
Phionah Anguzuzu Musumba has many years of experience working with women and girls from disadvantaged backgrounds, empowering them with skills for enterprise development and educational opportunities since 2002. As the Founder and Executive Director at the Centre for Disadvantaged Girls and Malkia Foundation, Musumba ensures that any girl who drops out of school due to poverty gets a second chance to go back to school and also provides job skills training to young women dropouts who cannot return to school. As a CSP Fellow at YWCA Austin in Texas, Musumba focused on learning new approaches to working with women and girls on education, health, and employment programs. Now returned to Kenya, Musumba is working to start an all-girl STEM school alongside a vocational college to offer marketable courses for the youth in mass communication, computer studies, carpentry, tailoring, catering, and masonry among other skills.
