Priscilla Cherry
Priscilla works in the Community Development sector leading The Colour Factor. The fellow is a professional storyteller, advocating for peer support, equitable and inclusive mental health services, and truth and reconciliation for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) in the mental health care industry who have struggled with their mental health or experienced substance abuse. The Colour Factor partners with health and social services providers who directly work with BIPOC and new immigrants, and seeks support from provincial health services, municipal governments, and community foundations. Through financially, geographically, and culturally accessible programming, BIPOC will have greater access to health services. The Colour Factor seeks to foster community connections, better health, and a sense of belonging by creating opportunities for BIPOC to lead the dialogue surrounding racial trauma. Coming to the YLAI Fellowship, Priscilla’s top business challenge is Operations.
