Refica Jose Elfreda Attwood
As the Executive Director for Wallings Nature Reserve, Inc., Refica Attwood has experience in grant writing, initiating and planning projects, managing project risks and changes, budgeting and scheduling projects, peace park development and management, and managing human resources. Currently, Refica is pursuing an Associate’s Degree in tourism management at the Hospitality Training Institute of Antigua and Barbuda. During the fellowship, Refica aims to learn about partnerships between NGOs and other types of organizations, how to network with other countries that have similar projects or programs, and how to maximize the marketing and growth of an organization with limited funding. Upon returning to Antigua and Barbuda, Refica plans to host a Summer Internship Program for 15 young men and women from 10 to 16 years of age, educating them about protecting the environment and biodiversity. This initiative will be entering its second year as she tries to change how students view nature and the environment and shows them the types of jobs that can be found, should they desire to study anything related to nature.
