Rosebell Kagumire, Uganda, is a freelance multimedia journalist, award winning blogger with a focus on new media, conflict and development. She is currently the coordinator of Africans Act for Africa, a network of African citizens and activists using online tools to help African leaders find African solutions to different crises in the region. She was recently honored by The World Economic Forum for her media work as of the 200 Young Global Leaders Class of 2013 under the age of 40. In 2009, Rosebell won the Waxal Award for Best English-Speaking African Journalist’s Blog hosted by PANOS and Global Voices for her work on www.rosebellkagumire.com. She frequently writes for Global Voices and is a critic of media narratives on Africa and is an Internet Freedom Fellow with the U.S. Department of State Human Rights program.
