Roy Tal is the Director of the Nitzan Community Theater Group where he writes and directs shows presenting problems that people with special needs experience when encountering the demands of their families and society. In addition, as the head of a community theater in the Rishon Letzion municipality, Tal writes and directs shows that deal with the real life stories and dilemmas of diverse actors. As a fellow at Voices United and The A-List in Florida, Tal engaged in a creative dialogue with Miami youth. He witnessed how reality-based theater can be used as a tool for peer education. With Voices United, Tal was part of the directing team for “Global Ties,” the first ever reality-based production in Miami based on stories from people all over the world. Upon returning to Israel, he worked to create an inter-cultural dialogue between communities through a multi-disciplinary arts youth group.
