Middle East & North Africa, West Bank/Gaza, Transparency and Accountability, 2017

As an Administrator and Translator for USAID: Rule of Law Project, Ruba empowers youth, particularly young journalists, to address transparency, government accountability and citizenship issues. Ruba is an expert in youth training on professional skills and developing media content to address legal issues, and has developed skills in training, writing, coordination and strategic planning. During her fellowship in the United States, Ruba hopes to learn about the characteristics of strong and effective media content; how to enhance the role of media as a watchdog for law implementation; and essential skills for training young journalists while also developing her skills in advocacy, effective community outreach strategies, and proposal writing. Upon returning from the Community Solutions Program, Ruba plans to bridge the gap between legal bodies and young journalists in Palestine by establishing a program to train young journalists on effective media content, community outreach, and government accountability.
