When Shorena Shaverdashvili started publishing Hot Chocolate five years ago, the publication was like fresh air for Georgian media – high quality analysis, discussions of controversial topics, problems viewed from new angles, lots of young authors. Seeing that quality analysis of current affairs was also missing in the Georgian media market, she started a weekly newsmagazine Liberali, employing mainly recent graduates. Shaverdashvili is a regular contributor in print and online, a member of the board of trustees of the Georgia Public Broadcaster and an active defender of free expression.
