Simon Mairson
Simon Mairson is a senior program officer for the Information & Media Practice at IREX.
In his role, Simon serves as the Associate Managing Editor of the Vibrant Information Barometer (VIBE), an annual study of the media environment in numerous countries across Eastern Europe and Eurasia. In addition, Simon provides administrative, compliance, and programmatic support for the USAID Media Program in Georgia. He has also worked on Learn to Discern (L2D) media and information literacy programs in the Baltics and Ukraine, and on the Ukraine National Identity Through Youth (UNITY) program as part of IREX’s Communities & Governance Practice.
Prior to joining IREX, Simon worked as a researcher at the Wisconsin Project on Nuclear Arms Control and at the Atomic Heritage Foundation. He holds a BA in history from Georgetown University and a postgraduate certificate in Russian from the Herzen Pedagogical University of Russia in Saint Petersburg.
